ViseoTape works on your phone and keeps your videos there. This page explains in plain language what the app does, and doesn't do, with your data.

It is a camcorder app with a VHS look that works on your phone, with no account system, no analytics and no ads. Your videos never leave your phone. The app's only network use is a quick purchase and security check with Google Play, described below. This policy explains exactly what that check sends, and walks through every permission the app asks for and why.
ViseoTape doesn't collect your videos or personal details, and we don't try to. Specifically, the app does not:
In short: what you film or convert in ViseoTape stays on your device unless you personally choose to share it. The one network connection the app makes is the security check below, which contains no video, no audio and no personal details.
ViseoTape is a paid app. When it opens, it runs a quick check to confirm that your copy is genuine and that your purchase is still valid, for example that it hasn't been refunded. You won't normally notice it.
Here is exactly what happens. Google Play services on your phone hand the app a sealed, encrypted Play Integrity token. The app sends that token, plus a random one-time number (a nonce), over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a small verification server that we run on Supabase's hosting, which acts as a service provider on our behalf. The server opens the token and learns only the app's package name, whether this is an official copy installed from Google Play, whether the device passes Google's integrity checks, and whether the Google account signed in on the phone owns the app. It does not receive your name, email address, Google account ID, advertising ID, or anything you've recorded or imported.
Like any request over the internet, it arrives with your IP address. Our hosting provider's standard request logs record that, an approximate location derived from it, the app's user-agent text and the time. We use these logs only to run and secure the service, never to identify, track or profile you, and they are currently retained for one day.
ViseoTape works offline. If the check can't finish (no connection, Google Play unavailable, our server down), nothing is locked and the app keeps working. The only thing that locks the app is an explicit "unlicensed" answer from Google Play, for example after a refund, and that lock is remembered on your device until Google Play confirms your purchase again. Your recordings stay on your device either way.
Android requires apps to declare each permission they use. Here is the complete list ViseoTape requests, and the feature each one enables:

Finished recordings are saved to your camera roll (DCIM/Camera) through Android's media storage, and importing uses Android's system video picker, so ViseoTape never gets access to your wider library or storage, only the file you pick. There is no location permission, no contacts permission and no storage permission.
Recordings and converted videos are saved to your phone's camera roll, where they behave like any other video: other apps you have allowed to see your gallery can see them, and they stay there if you uninstall ViseoTape. Your settings and the presets you save are kept only in the app's own storage on your device, and are removed when you uninstall the app.
When you share a clip, it goes only where you tell it to, through Android's share sheet or an app you choose. It never passes through any server of ours.
ViseoTape does not include any third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services. The purchase and security check relies on two providers: Google Play (which issues the Play Integrity token, under Google's own privacy terms) and Supabase, which hosts our verification server and acts on our behalf. If that ever changes in a future update, we will revise this policy first and update the date at the top of this page.
ViseoTape does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app has no chat, messaging or social features, and its only network request is the purchase and security check above, which carries no name, email or account identifier.
We may update this policy as ViseoTape evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date above. We encourage you to check back occasionally, especially before a major app update.
